I loved the look of this dress online. I purchased in hopes to wear it for a gender reveal. The lining underneath makes it not bump friendly and the banding on the arms was really tight compared to my other dresses that I have that are made similarly. Unfortunately this one will be returned even though it is adorable.

This dress is so pretty! However it does run very small. It was tight in the sleeves as well as the bust. I normally wear an XL in the smocked dresses like Roselyn or Madeline. This one fit about two sizes smaller than that. I do love the pattern and the different color tiers. I plan on wearing it for Easter!

Lots of people size down in the smocked style like the Madeline or lani. I would not reccomended sizing down. It’s a much tighter smock than those ones. I stayed TTS. And how dang cute!

I LOVE how fun and unique this dress is! I usually wear a size XL in Ivy City Co and that’s what I purchased here. While it does fit, it’s a lot tighter in the bust than the others I have, so be aware when sizing. The smocking doesn’t have a ton of give. Still, loving it so much and can’t wear to wear it around!

I wanted to love this dress on me, ended up ordering a size Large after reading several reviews that said the chest ran tighter than normal.. I'm a size 36E, but the large was too big on me, around the front part of my shoulders and in the upper back part of the dress. Also the sleeves were way too pufffy for me, felt like my head and neck were drowing on them :(. Maybe the medium would've looked better, but I didn't want to take a chance again, so returned it. I loved the skirt part of it though, very full and had a lot of body (more than I expected).

Lovely dress but didn't love it like others do. It seemed to run smaller than other Ivy City dresses I'm worn and bought. I'm wearing a large but it still felt a big tight to me when I usually wear medium/large in Ivy City dresses. I am 165 pounds and 5'5". It just didn't feel as flattering on me as I hoped, my arms are a bit chubby and my breasts are larger so I felt like it just wasn't working for me.

I love this dress so much. It’s the pastel creation of my dreams. The smocking on this is tighter than typical smocked dresses, so I’d suggest sizing up. My size up (2X) was sold out so I sized up to a 3X and it still works — just a bit looser. Totally worth the loose-ness, in my opinion.

I can’t emphasize enough how much of a must have this Emily dress is! It’s perfect for spring but also summer! I love the design and how well divided each piece of the dress is. It’s neatly stitched and the puffy sleeves add a very elegant, feminine appearance. I had to do nothing to make this dress look good. Got numerous compliments from women and men!
The only slight downside for me was that the sleeves were a little too fitted around my arm. But they weren’t uncomfortable or distracting to an extreme level. The dress itself is comfortable enough to wear the entire day which I did. For a small fit it was just right! Dresses like this one is exactly why I’ve been an Ivy City girl for so many years! Can’t get enough of the goodness of such designs!

On this picture, I am wearing the size medium (my TTS) on the left side and I am wearing the size small on the right side. You can barely notice the difference. It’s more comfortable for me on the medium size. I finally wore the medium size on Mother’s Day to match with my mini. We got so many compliments. People even asked if the dress was custom-made. They are so flowy and comfortable! Definitely recommend them. I would stay TTS or size up if you are between sizes. Gorgeous dress!

I feel the same as another reviewer that gave this dress 4 stars. I would have given the dress 5 stars based on the fabric, colors and overall design details. There were two minor issues for me. The bodice isn’t as flattering as it could be and cuts me off a little bit and the arms are also quite tight. In the end, there is a lot to love about the dress and I just can't part with it, so I can live with a couple of minor issues.

I wanted to love this one so badly but sadly the fit is off and doesn’t fit like all my other ivy city dresses. My regular size was super tight in the waist and arms. (The smocking doesn’t have as much give/stretch on this one as others do).
So I sized up, which fit better in the waist but then the bust area was gaping really badly and didn’t work at all. The sleeve holes were also still pretty tight even when I sized up.
Darling design and fabric and I even considered ways in which I could maybe have it altered to make it work, but decided against it. Sad to send it back because it’s so cute and the fabric/patterns are even cuter in person.

Okay guys- I hate giving this four stars but it’s not a knock out of the park for me. The patchwork and colors and overall look is SO five stars- but the only reason I gave it a 4 is because it’s a really awkward fit..& that’s the most important thing in a 5 star review..is how the dress makes me feel. I’m 5’4, 120lbs and a 32C for reference & the bodice just isn’t very flattering and cuts me off a little bit. I won’t return it because I’m in love with the beautiful colors and details but I wish the bodice was designed a little longer and able to be more flattering. I don’t think I’d have any luck sizing up since I’m a true small, but if you’re in between sizes- do that.
