Mother's Day is our favorite day of the year! Celebrating motherhood is what we live for! We love standing for mothers and helping them see how beautiful they truly are! For Mother's Day we asked each of the Ivy Wives what motherhood means to them.

What does motherhood mean to you?

"Since I was little girl, I knew I wanted to be a mom. My mom was such a great example for me. She demonstrated love, compassion, goodness, hard work and dedication to her family. She put her family first — no matter what. In 2009, I became a mom. For the first time in my life, I understood the love my mother had for me. I wanted to give my baby the best life I could. Over the years, I’ve learned that the only things that matter are love and agency. I will love my children unconditionally, for always, and no matter. My goal is that will always know that I am there for them. Second, I believe in teaching them to think for themselves and to act for themselves. They are ultimately responsible for who and what they become. My job to set an example, teach them correct principles, and hold them accountable for their actions. I am not perfect, but do the very best I can for my children everyday and try to emulate the example shown to me by mother."

How do you balance motherhood & chasing your career dreams?

"Happiness in life is all about finding harmony and balance. Time is a finite resource. I schedule time for my work, kids, husband, body, spirit and recreation. When these priorities get out of balance, I can feel it. For me, the key is planning and time management. I try not to rob one focus from another. This can be difficult because life is so spontaneous and busy, but if I make the balance a priority things seem to go well."

What does motherhood mean to you?

"Motherhood to me is the ultimate act of selflessness. Thinking back on my mom raising me and all the amazing other mother figures who helped me through so much makes me emotional --- Motherhood is putting someone else's needs above your own. It's loving deeply outside of yourself. It's beautiful."

How was being a new mom changed you?

"Words cannot express how becoming a mother this year has changed me. It's as if this huge part of my heart and soul was lying dormant my whole life and then suddenly I held my daughter for the first time and it awoke this massive part of me. Motherhood has changed my perspective on how I see this world and how I want to live my life --- it's  made me more compassionate of ALL people. I want to do everything I can to extend love and care to everyone I see."

What does motherhood mean to you?

"Motherhood has taught me how to be selfless and have patience. To find joy in the little moments, even when some days seem so hard. To care for these little children is truly such a blessing."
