Purchased this to wear for a recent military ball & I loved it so much. I felt like a princess at the ball in it & truly loved the vintage vibes it gave off. It was a little big on me but based on the measurements I was in between sizes & recommended to go up. I think I could’ve fit in the 2X after all, but no one could really tell that the 3X was big on me. It was comfortable & modest, so I didn’t have to worry about anything the whole night or while dancing. It truly is a beautiful dress.

Loved this dress for maternity photos! So many compliments with matching my daughter. I originally ordered a too small size but it was so easy to exchange for a larger one that worked. I will be ordering more in the future.

I wanted to love this dress but it is just TOO SMALL. I wear size L/XL usually (ZARA, Banana Republic, etc.) but I could not fit in this dress. My friend who wears size 8/10 could barely fit in it! Unfortunately, since it is final sale, I cannot return the dress and have no good use for it. I will have to find something else. Disappointing :(

This dress is an absolute DREAM. It’s so flowy and moves so naturally with you. Whimsical is literally the perfect name! I wore it for my engagement shoot and sadly the weather was rainy and windy but once there was a small break on the radar we were able to catch a ton of amazing shots. The movement of this dress with the wind was amazing and I’m so happy with how the pictures looked! We also took the photos in a field and I had several times where twigs or large jagged sticks would get stuck in the tulle and I was 100% certain there was going to be rips in it by the time we were done. I checked the dress over later though and there wasn’t one flaw which was wild to me and just solidified the quality cause I’ve ripped tights and other clothes with less aggression. Overall it’s such a lovely dress and I would definitely recommend it to others! Size wise - I have a large rib cage, long torso, small bust, and wide hips so my size can range quite a bit and be anywhere from small to large in general sizing. I do also have several other Ivy City dresses that are both M and L and based on the reviews and size chart I went with the large and it fit literally perfect! There is definitely no give or stretch so I would go off the largest size on the size chart if you are in between cause there’s no way I could’ve fit in a medium.

My daughter received so many compliments on this dress—even from complete strangers! The theme of their prom was Enchanted Garden, and this dress was perfect. She was comfortable all night dancing and kept cool in southern TX. She followed the sizing guide, and the fit was right on! Quality was excellent, as well. This was our first purchase from Ivy City Co., and it will not be our last.

I am related to the groom to the wedding attended and she was related to the bride :) definitely side up, bust area has no stretch/give. I am 5’5, 34DD typically a size M (6-8 sometimes 10) went with a L. Did not wear a bra and it is not see through

I bought this dress for a photoshoot that was gifted to me for my 30th birthday and this dress did not disappoint! It made the photoshoot feel absolutely magical. Luckily I read reviews beforehand that suggested this dress ran small in terms of sizing. I can definitely confirm that’s true! I wear large, sometimes medium and I ordered an XL and there wasn’t much room. If you’re on the fence because of the price, GO FOR IT. You will not regret it. I’m already trying to see which dress I’ll order next!

I went up THREE sizes from my normal size to try to accommodate my bump and still no chance of the dress fitting over it! Every other aspect of the dress fit, EXCEPT when I tried getting it over my bump. And I’m only 21 weeks with a pretty small bump and haven’t gained more than 5lbs in my pregnancy!!! I shudder to think of how awful it would have been trying this on at 32weeks, when I needed the dress!!! So frustrating. Their advertising to pregnant women on this dress is entirely misleading. They should NOT have labeled this as “bump-friendly”, regardless of indicating it’s non-stretch material. Unless you’re barely into your pregnancy with no bump at all, THE SIZING UP DOESN'T WORK. Don’t bother.

I love love love this dress! It was so feminine and beautiful, and the twirliest dress of my dreams. The reason I’m giving it 4 stars is only because the sizing chart doesn’t match up with the actual dress. I’m more on the bustier side of things, but when I measured myself I was 36 bust. The Large on the sizing chart said up to 39 in the bust region. When I got the dress, I could barley zip it all the way. I wasn’t able to wear a bra with the dress and it was still very tight. However, I couldn’t pass up wearing this dress for Easter! For sizing purposes, I am a 36 bust, 33 waist 5’4” at 165 lbs. and ordered a large. It was very tight in the bust area, but everywhere else fit like a glove.

I’ve been wanting to buy from Ivy City Co for a while. Thanks to an upcoming wedding I finally had the chance. Originally I selected a different dress but I didnt love it. Mariah, Kaila, Calla, Alexa, Devon, and the rest of the team went above and beyond on the exchange, being very responsive in the email and the website online chat, and giving size and style recommendations. I ended up going with the whimsical dress in sage in size Large and I would say it fits true to size. I am around a size 10 normally, at 5’9” and 190lbs. I would say it’s a bit narrow at the waist and that would probably be the hardest part to zip over so take the waist measurement on the size chart into consideration. All things said I can’t wait to buy from here again. Five stars all around on the customer service, response times, and quality of the dress.

I bought this dress for my Maid of Honor to wear at my rehearsal dinner, it fit her perfectly (she's wearing a small, about 5' 4"). Great quality, and the tulle is soft and comfortable. The little one is wearing the pixie dress in blush (she's between a 3T and 4T, I went with the 4-5 and it is big on her).

A Stunner! The whimsicals are one of my favorites and this dress is perfect! I love the blush color and I’m happy that with my long legs the bottom still is long enough for me! It is very cute in the winter and spring with a chunky sweater over it!

The Whimsical dress in Blush was stunning on our daughter Emme! True to size and easy to shorten since she is only 5 feet tall. She wore it to the Night to Shine event sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation. She was the belle of the ball!

I think it would run true to size if it had a little bit of stretch but I definitely had to size up because it has no stretch at all. I’m normally a Large / XL… I had to get the 1X in this.

I'm a medium in the Ivy City dresses and a large in dresses with no stretch so I have some room. My bust is 38D. For the Whimsical however, I went up to an XL since the medium and large wouldn't zip up past my bra.

This dress is an actual dream. I bought it to wear to my sister's wedding and it was perfect. It is not easy to find modest dresses appropriate for a wedding. However, I did have to do some alterations. I am average height (5'4") and the dress didn't reach the floor. I had the bottom tier removed and replaced with a longer one (similar fabric). Then I was able to wear a petticoat. The fabric looks like Swiss dot, but it is actually star print. The fit is slightly small. I was debating between two sizes, ordered the larger one, and it was fitted. I was in touch with customer service and they were a pleasure to deal with.

I absolutely love the whimsical dress, but it does run smaller than my other Ivy City Co dresses. It didn’t work on me, but it’s a beautiful dress!

Absolutely loved the dress! Unfortunately it was extremely tight in the breast. I got a size small and it did not zipper up. I guess I had to size up although I was a size small in the Venice Dress. Had to return it but beautiful dress overall!

My blue and coral whimsical were true to size. I sized up in the blush so I can wear while pregnant! It’s really snug! I’m wearing the xl! The Whimsical is absolutely a dress you should buy if you love the style and are under 5'5" or want to show off your shoes. My eight year old said this is the most beautiful thing she's ever seen. The fabric and design are dreamy just as you'd hope they would be. I kept mine a few days and kept trying it on to see if my initial opinion of it on me would change, but it hasn't. I'm 5'7", and the length just hits me awkwardly above the ankles. Although I've waited for this dress since last fall, I just can't stand my ankles and feet sticking out beneath this gorgeous skirt. For the price of the dress, I need to love how it fits me. I will return this one, but if it ever comes out in a tall option, I will buy it again.
