I felt beautiful in this dress!! I’d say it runs a tad small. I go between medium and XL in Ivy city Co. dresses! This one is a XL and I’m a short 5 feet! Length was perfect. Feeling like an absolute princess in this dress! Color is gorgeous—gives a nice romantic feel. The tulle is super soft to the touch and the embroidery on the bodice is exquisite. The sleeves sit nicely and even with the layers, the dress doesn’t feel heavy. The dress has such great movement and looks just as beautiful in photos as it does in person. For size reference, I’m 5’1, 105 lbs and wearing an XS.

I initially ordered this dress in a large based on the sizing chart measurements and the fact that a size large is my usual non-smocked size in ivy, but the large was much too big. The medium fits me perfectly. I am a size 8 in streetwear and usually a medium in smocked ivy dresses. My measurements are 36, 31, 40 and 5’10” tall. I find that most non-smoked dresses in ivy are too big for me up top (to get the waist to fit), so there must be something special about the cut/style of this one that works. The chest isn’t as big as the whimsical on me or the ballerina. And thankfully the waist is just right. Sometimes, I noticed that colorways in different styles fit slightly differently (different batches). I am ashamed to know this about quite a few styles (as I have quite a bit of ivy in my closet). For example, the pink Aniston dress was huge and unshapely on me in a large, but the ivory one in exact the same size fits pretty well. I have never tried the Anastasia style before because, as a pear, very few non-smocked ivy styles seem to fit me very well. So I always look at the measurements with care. This one seems to be one of the exceptions. It is extremely pretty and soft and the color is lovely. If you haven’t had success with the whimsical or other zipped styles as a pear, this may be the one for you. I am glad I took a chance on it.

This dress is incredible! It’s so comfortable, and so beautiful! The embroidery and beading is lovely. I bought it for a military ball I plan to go to with my husband but I can’t wait to wear it to church and on dates as well! I feel so feminine and comfortable in it, I will absolutely wear this whenever I can! I am a L/XL in fitted ivy and M in their smocked dress and I went with an XL because I like extra room in the waist and since it’s a high neck it being a little loose in the bust doesn’t look off. Very happy with my decision in sizing up.
