Ahhh, Ivy City, you've done it again! The Sunday Best Dress in Linear Poppy Woodblock is one of my new favorite dresses. The fabric is stunning. It looked pretty online, but I love it even more in person. I found the silhouette to be flattering- I have a slender/athletic build and a small chest (breastfed 3 babies and I'm not left with much), so I often have issues with gapping and excess fabric on the upper portion of dresses. I ordered a small, and the smocking helps take care of that issue. Plus, let's give a round of applause for the darling criss-cross stitching on the bodice and the perfectly puffed sleeves.
This dress makes me feel good in my own skin. AND the POCKETS! Always a win. As someone who lives in a warmer-than-average climate, I appreciate that the cotton is sturdy enough not to need a liner, because more layers often mean more trapped heat. The sturdier cotton does make this dress a little stiff at first, but after a few wears and washes, it softens right up. Such a sweet dress- I'd love to see more of this silhouette in future drops!
