This is a beautiful print, and I sized down from my zipper dress size, but probably could’ve sized down 2 sizes. Looser smocking on the bust. I wish I would’ve noticed before I took the tags off, but the elastic on one sleeve is completely broken so one doesn’t have the standard puff. I need to pay to have a seamstress fix but wish I would’ve noticed right away.

As a butterfly obsessed gal, this dress was right up my alley. The design is beautiful and the dress is so much fun to wear. I love that the fit is very flattering and the smocked bodice leaves a lot of room for stretch (hopefully for when I'm pregnant with child #2).

You can size one down from your zippered size- it fits the same as my other smocked dresses like the Madeline or Starry Nights. This dress is a summer staple. Absolutely adore it!

I went back and forth on sizing and decided on size small as the extra small in Starry Nights fits nicely. My measurements are 41” bust, 29” waist, 39” hips. The small fits well. I do wish that the smocking part was longer as the dress turns into a babydoll if you have a large chest. The elastic around the sleeves is too loose but that’s something that I can fix with my sewing machine. It’s a good dress.

How could I not love, love, love this sweet dress? The soft, flowy fabric feels dreamy to wear and the butterfly pattern gives an air of whimsical romance. Pockets!?! I'm sold! I have found that these dresses run a little on the larger size. I'm 5'3" and typically wear an XS, but the XXS in this brand fits me much better.

I’m 5’3” and 114 lbs. I typically wear and XS, but I’ve found that the Ivy Co. dresses fit me better in an XXS - I have a small rib cage and wear a 32A cup bra for context. The Mariposa is cute, flirty, and fun. Love the feel of the fabric, the pockets, and the cute detailing at the neckline. Customer service was fantastic - extremely prompt and very helpful. Always fun to twin with my daughter. Thought those days were over. She may be old enough to think it’s not the coolest thing anymore, but she liked this dress a lot and so I took advantage of the wide range of sizes. She is in an XS and I ordered 3X. I think I could have easily fit a 2x, but I ordered using the measurements and my bust indicated the need for 3X. I feel confident the 2X would have fit just fine, but am happy with the fit on both of us. Dresses are well made and beautiful!

Sadly this dress just wasn't for me. I'm 5'8, 150lbs or so and a 32G. I bought a medium and it fit great. On me the dress looked infantile. I don't know if it was the bow or ruffles but it wasn't flattering with being curvy and taller. I love the print though. Wish they offered this as a skirt. Would love more insect and animal prints. Make a bird dress!

I'd say you could size down because there is stretch in the bodice, but depending on how tight you want it on the arm cuff to be. I stayed true to size and I like it just fine because I do have bigger biceps and a bigger chest. It's the greatest little dress for summer and I can't resist butterflies!
