My 5 year old we ordered a 6/7 and it fit her excellent, a little long which I was hoping for so she can have it for a couple of seasons! Colors are beautiful and the fabric is great quality. I am 5’3”, hourglass shaped, usually around a size 16-18/1-2x, 42DDD bust. This dress hits me around mid calf and is very flattering. I usually wear an XXL in Ivy City Co dresses, and this dress was no different. I love that it is 100% cotton as so many cheaper dress options today are all poly blends that are either uncomfortable or make me sweat. This dress will actually work perfectly for the spring and summer time because it’s nice and lightweight—I should mention that it is also fully lined and not see-through either! I bought this dress for an event in the summer. I wanted something that would work for pregnancy but also after. After searching reviews, I decided on this one and bought my true size (for reference, I am 5’ 2” and 105 pounds when not pregnant). I wore this dress at 9 months pregnant for my maternity photos, and it also looks super cute since having my baby. It’s light enough to wear in the summer but lined so well that it’s not see-through at all. Super comfortable and lots of stretch in the smocking.

I feel like with the smocking it could definitely fit a variety of sizes. It was comfortable and not too hot or clingy in this awful southern heat! Well, after deliberating for a long time, I finally took the plunge on the Madeline dress…and I’m so glad I did! I sized down from my typical L to a M and was still easily able to step into it. I love that I didn’t need a slip or a cami underneath because it’s so well lined. And all that extra fabric in the skirt makes it so twirl-able. The cut is flattering and feminine… already purchased my second Madeline dress because I know this will be a staple in my wardrobe. I did use a steamer on it since it had a few wrinkles after shipping. And I imagine the fabric will soften up even more over time. So happy with my purchase!

I love this dress. I’m 5ft usually a size small. A lot of people recommended sizing down because of the smocking but I’m glad I got a small. I think an XS would be too tight around the armpits. The dress is a tad long on me (I’m short so it’s not surprising), it’s still “midi-length” on me but a long midi length. I could hem it a bit if I wanted to but honestly the length doesn’t bother me that much. It’s still above the floor by a good couple of inches. Really pretty. Nice fabric.

This was my first purchase from Ivy City Co after having seen an ad on Instagram. It has been a wonderful experience all around. I tried on both the medium and the small and ultimately went with the small. There really is a lot of stretch in the bodice and the small, overall, hung on my body better. The medium would have been okay, too, but I did want something a little more form fitting. I'm six feet tall and felt like the proportions of the dress worked well with my body well. I've already ordered two other colors! Will order more with time. This will be my go to summer dress. No more decision fatigue trying to figure out what to wear.

I think the dress is pretty true to size. I tried the xxs and it was a perfect fit. Didn’t feel too tight around the torso. I’m 5.1’ and I feel the length was pretty good in me even when the dress is regular and not petite. The fabric is light and perfect for spring and summer, but can easily be transitioned to colder days if you put a jacket or even better throw a sweater on and wear it as a skirt! The matching mini dress is also soooo pretty!

I’m normally a size small and I got an xs but the top still rolls like it’s too big so I think this one runs big. I would probably try a xxs since I don’t like it so loose. Also disappointed since I really wanted the white background and blue flowers but it’s more of a mint blue with flowers.
