It’s funny the first time I saw the Emily dress I wasn’t crazy about it. But I kept seeing it advertised and try ons with it and I fell in love! So glad I snatched up this dress when it dropped! It is very well made and a nice fit!

I can’t emphasize enough how much of a must have this Emily dress is! It’s perfect for spring but also summer! I love the design and how well divided each piece of the dress is. It’s neatly stitched and the puffy sleeves add a very elegant, feminine appearance. I had to do nothing to make this dress look good. Got numerous compliments from women and men! The only slight downside for me was that the sleeves were a little too fitted around my arm. But they weren’t uncomfortable or distracting to an extreme level. The dress itself is comfortable enough to wear the entire day which I did. For a small fit it was just right! Dresses like this one is exactly why I’ve been an Ivy City girl for so many years! Can’t get enough of the goodness of such designs!

On this picture, I am wearing the size medium (my TTS) on the left side and I am wearing the size small on the right side. You can barely notice the difference. It’s more comfortable for me on the medium size. I finally wore the medium size on Mother’s Day to match with my mini. We got so many compliments. People even asked if the dress was custom-made. They are so flowy and comfortable! Definitely recommend them. I would stay TTS or size up if you are between sizes. Gorgeous dress!

I have never been a fan of patchwork garments until I tried this dress. Omg I'm so in love with it, beautiful colors and very comfortable.

The actual dress is lovely. The smocking is very tight and I felt like it kind of flattened my chest. My biggest issue was that the arms holes are SUUUUPER tight. My daughter mini dress had the same issues.

This dress is truely one of my favorite dress!!! The combination of colors are so pretty!! I feel so pretty in it!! Lots of compliment when wearing this dress! It runs a little bit small, but i was able to fit into my TTS. Please make more dress like this IVY!!!!!!

I feel the same as another reviewer that gave this dress 4 stars. I would have given the dress 5 stars based on the fabric, colors and overall design details. There were two minor issues for me. The bodice isn’t as flattering as it could be and cuts me off a little bit and the arms are also quite tight. In the end, there is a lot to love about the dress and I just can't part with it, so I can live with a couple of minor issues.

THIS DRESS IS EVERYTHING!!! I wanted this for so long and it surpassed my expectations! From the patchwork to how comfy the dress is, this is a must-have! The sizing was good! I stuck to my true to size: XS! I’m 5’4, 33B, and 25W.

TTS. Tighter smocking. Very pretty print. Wish it was cotton or linen. The lining is blue so it makes the yellow not as yellow/bright.

I initially ordered a size small on this dress because of the smocking. However,  the smocking is super tight on this one. It still fits as you can see on the picture but it's tight. I would stay TTS for a more relaxed fit. The dress is absolutely beautiful. I love the design and color! For reference my bust is 34B and my waist is 30 inches. 

I love this dress so much!! I got a medium and it fits gorgeous. This is my first smock dress and I’m a fan. The sleeve are almost too tight so maybe if you have larger arms, size up. The colors are incredible!

Ahhh the Emily! I waited so long for her but she didn’t disappoint. I love everything about this dress. The colors, the look, the fitted bodice. I will say that you cannot size down - I got my TTS but I’d size up if you’re in between.

As everyone else has said, this dress does have tighter smocking than others so I would definitely stay TTS. The sleeves feel a little tighter than normal as well, but overall feel good. The details in this dress aee too die for though! The fabric is lightweight and soft and it feels like the perfect summer dress. For reference I am 5'6", 123 lbs and wearing a size small.

My actual new favorite dress! The smocking is a tight smocking, but my TTS fits perfectly. So flattering and the patchwork and little eyelet details are perfect.

I didn’t think the puff sleeves were very flattering for me, but I love the pattern! The smocking was definitely not as stretchy as usual but I still went with my usual size and it fit fine.

I love this dress! It’s beautiful. It is smocking but it runs small. I bought a medium and fits snug, but not uncomfortable. It’s flattering and perfect for spring and summer. If you are in between sizes go up.

This is such a cute dress. I love all of the different fabrics my husband really likes it too. I got my TTS - it’s a tighter smocking than the others like Madeline so I’m glad I didn’t try to size down. Love this one. I feel so pretty!

Such a cute dress! The smocking is tighter than some of their other smocked dresses, so I definitely recommend getting your regular size, not sizing down. The shoulders are a little poofy for my taste, but they're growing on me. :)

I wanted to love this one so badly but sadly the fit is off and doesn’t fit like all my other ivy city dresses. My regular size was super tight in the waist and arms. (The smocking doesn’t have as much give/stretch on this one as others do). So I sized up, which fit better in the waist but then the bust area was gaping really badly and didn’t work at all. The sleeve holes were also still pretty tight even when I sized up. Darling design and fabric and I even considered ways in which I could maybe have it altered to make it work, but decided against it. Sad to send it back because it’s so cute and the fabric/patterns are even cuter in person.

I actually sized up one so the bodice would be longer. So glad I did as the smocking is tight! I’d say go tts or up one! It’s so darling!! I love the pink ruffle that ties it all together! Comfy and cute!

Okay guys- I hate giving this four stars but it’s not a knock out of the park for me. The patchwork and colors and overall look is SO five stars- but the only reason I gave it a 4 is because it’s a really awkward fit..& that’s the most important thing in a 5 star review..is how the dress makes me feel. I’m 5’4, 120lbs and a 32C for reference & the bodice just isn’t very flattering and cuts me off a little bit. I won’t return it because I’m in love with the beautiful colors and details but I wish the bodice was designed a little longer and able to be more flattering. I don’t think I’d have any luck sizing up since I’m a true small, but if you’re in between sizes- do that.

Finally the Emily, I couldn't wait to get this dress! The color blocking, the floral material, the flow, the comfort, the smocked bodice and the puff sleeves are perfection. I could have gone up or stayed true to size since it was a tight smocking. Let me just go grab a straw hat for a sunny picnic in the Emily

First of all, this dress is so dreamy. The design and color are perfect for spring. Unfortunately it's a little too tight. Since the medium is sold out, I may keep the small one. I would not size down on this one since the smocking is definitely tighter than mariposa.

The print on this dress was even more cute in person! The details on the sleeves are amazing as well! However, the fit of the dress on me was a little off. The cut of the neckline left gaping sections on both corners. I think it is an adorable dress! But this one is just not for me unfortunately so I will be returning it.

This dress is so lovely I love it it runs just a little big in the bust , the ruffle in the front is that touch of sweet pretty and sleeves are beautiful , I would size down one size I tried to get one size down and it was sold out by 9:15 am on launch day 4/14 Beautiful!

The print and silhouette is so cute!! The smocking is tighter.. you would be okay with keeping your regular size or sizing down. I wish it was cotton or linen though. A little bummed with the type of fabric that was used.
