The sleeves opening is too small, and the sleeve is too tight for an XL dress. The proportions haven't been changed enough for the larger size change of the dress. That needs to be considered as the dress size has been enlarged. I've heard so much about your dresses and I'm very disappointed.

Ok. I love this dress LOVE it. It's one of my very favorite dresses in my closet. The cut, the colors, the feminine lines, amount of fabric in the skirt-all perfection. However, I sized up after reading the reviews about the arms being small. I am sooo glad I did. I have normal sized arms - I'm am average /smallish, 42 yr old, mom of 5, person with an athletic build. I exercise daily and lift weights regularly, but am by no means a body builder. If I had gotten my normal sz (small) the arms would have been super uncomfortable. Unless you have really boney arms and really small bones, do yourself a favor and size up on this style.

First, this dress is stunning. The pattern is beautiful and it’s wonderfully made. I love the details of the wrists on the sleeves.
Having said that, I can’t imagine how anyone can fit into the arms unless their arms are very thin relative to the rest of their body.
I ordered a size small and couldn’t get the dress on because the sleeves were so tight.
I exchanged for a medium and i could just barely get the dress on. But the sleeves were way too tight to the point where it’s not wearable. I’d tear it if I moved wrong.
For reference, I’m 5’3” 145 lbs (post Partum). While I have a fair amount of muscle from lifting, I carry my weight in my legs. According to the size charts, I’d fit into an XS, but sized up to a Small to be comfortable (then exchanged for M which was still too small). My biceps are 11.75 inches for reference.
A medium was too big everywhere else, so I won’t be exchanging for a L. And i have a feeling a Large would still be too tight in the arms.
I am so disappointed. This dress would be amazing if it was a true lantern sleeve. From the elbow down, the sleeve is perfect. It feels like this dress has a manufacturing defect or something. The sleeves are just unusually tight.
I really hope Ivy City adjusts the fit of this style to make the sleeves fully lantern sleeves all the way to the shoulder. This is such a gorgeous dress otherwise!!!

Beautiful dress! Love the pattern, so much fabric. At 5'4 I can only wear this comfortably with heels, otherwise I'd need it hemmed a few inches. Biggest issue is how very very very tight the arms are! I bought a medium, my true size, and the dress fit great everywhere except for the arms. My bicep area felt like it would explode if I made one wrong move. Not sure why the sleeves are so tight, but otherwise a beautiful dress.

This dress is beautiful and flattering. I wore it for Christmas Eve Mass (my daughters have the minis) and I wore it to my niece's winter wedding. Dressy yet very comfortable with a full skirt, which was fun for dancing at the reception. I said it runs small in this review, but just in the arms/shoulders. I am pear-shaped, so the dress fits me perfectly and is true to size. I would size up if your upper body is larger than your lower body. The material feels luxurious and hangs really well. I got at least 5 compliments on it.

Very pretty dress, with a few sizing issues. I am 5’8”, 135 lbs, bra size 32C, and usually wear a small in tops, medium in bottoms. I originally ordered a small and had to return for a medium because the dress was too tight in the bodice and wrists. The medium fits much better, but it is too long for my taste. I’m not at all short, and yet I find that I’m constantly stepping on the hem of the dress if I do anything other than walk on a flat surface. I will likely have it tailored to a slightly shorter length. I imagine someone who is average to short would absolutely drown in the length of this dress. Overall, pretty dress, lovely pattern, but beware of the unique sizing issues.

This dress has been on my wishlist for a while now, and I snapped it up while it was on sale. I followed everyone’s advice and sized up one size due to the arms fitting small, and while the dress bodice was a tad oversized, the sleeves were still quite snug. That’s why I went with four stars. However, that being said, after wearing it for a little while, the sleeves weren’t uncomfortable, and I felt like the sleeves being a bit more fitted at the top complemented the sleeve silhouette nicely. Overall, the dress is flattering, it was comfortable, the fabric is pretty, the skirt is enjoyably voluminous, and I hope to get lots of use from this dress in the winter months!

I absolutely loved this dress, thought it was so beautiful but it just didn’t fit around my arms! I started with the XL (my normal size) and could barely get it on because it was so tight around my upper arms, but it fit perfectly everywhere else. So I tried the XXL and it was a little better but still way too tight on my biceps to be comfortable. Plus the bust became too big with the XXL. I’m super bummed this didn’t work because the fabric is great and the colors and flow of the dress are really so pretty so I really wish the arms fit better!

Gorgeous but SUCH a weird fit, especially for a flowy dress. If you carry your weight in your arms/bust/back, consider sizing up TWO sizes, but definitely size up at least one.
I took my measurements and ordered one size up. I was worried it would be too big, but so many reviews said the arms were small so I sized up to be safe.
I received it and the arms were SO tight I could barely get the dress on. I carry my weight in my legs, NOT my arms, and my bust is in the smaller side and it still was soooo tight. I had to have my husband help me adjust the arms so I could get the dress fully on properly to see how the rest of it laid. It was hard to move because the arms were so tight. I expected a flowy lantern sleeve but this is definitely not that.
The wrist cuff fit me fine but was on the tighter side too.
I love the dress overall - the pattern is gorgeous, it’s flowy and elegant.
But I would recommend sizing up TWO sizes. The chest fit me and so did the back, but it felt like the arms were sewn on from a totally Different dress size. So wonky.
I love it so I’m gonna try to size up one more time and hopefully the bust won’t be too big.
Overall, the dress is GORGEOUS but fits super weird! So be mindful about the size you order and consider sizing up even 2 sizes!

I was so excited to receive the holly berry dress, and had sized up from my normal xs to accommodate the arm tightness that I had read about in other reviews. Unfortunately, the arms on the small were still so tight that I could hardly get it on properly. Everywhere else fit very well and I’m afraid if I went up a size to a M I would swim in it. So it is going back. Please consider making this dress with the arms a little looser next year as it is a gorgeous dress otherwise. Thank you!

This dress is everything! I wanted it to work, it’s absolutely stunning and soooo comfortable… for the most part. Unfortunately the upper arms seem to be severely sized wrong. I barely got it on and was shocked I got it off, i literally thought I’d be stuck haha but the shoulder weren’t tight, just the middle of the biceps, like it was a mistake in sizing. Thankfully I have something who is going to try to fix it by taking some fabric from the sash! I do not want to let this one go, it’s amazing! But just know it might need some fixing in the arms if you get it. It’s tts, I’m a L and got a XL and it’s a little big but I kinda love that fit, makes it more comfortable, though it probably would have been fine in L besides the arms of course.

RUNS SMALL IN BICEP!
I am 5'1 about 130 lbs. Typically a size 28/small/medium. It was SUPER tight in the upper arms. I do have slightly buff-er arms than a lot of girls but these sleeves around the armpit/biceps were super tight. I had to get it altered and added about an inch. The rest of the sleeve was nice and loose. I'm not sure why they didn't make it flowy all the way down. The dress fit fine. A tiny big in the chest but I expected that with the shape. I couldn't size up because the top would have been huge. Overall I really love the dress but had to get it altered.

This is a beautiful dress, but only if you have stick arms. The arms are very tight and I cannot wear it. I ordered a medium and it fit fine everywhere else. I even had extra room in many areas, except the sleeves which I truly was afraid would rip at the seams getting back off. I LOVE this dress. I sized up because I have very broad shoulders and have had to size up in the past from Ivy City Co so I took a chance. I love the way this dress made me feel! I felt like I could have walked in and won a competition! I’ll be wearing it on and off throughout the holiday season and it was definitely money well spent.
*if you do have larger upper arms, you may need to size up. There is no give in the upper arm region.

Sizing - this dress does run small in the chest and sleeves (especially compared to the Lavender Fields and Lyla dresses). I would not suggest sizing down. I am currently 7 months pregnant and can still fit comfortably in my tts Lavender Fields and Lyla dresses, but my tts in the Holly Berry was definitely too tight in the bust and sleeves for my preference. I would suggest sizing up in this dress for a more comfortable fit.
Sleeves - I did compare the sleeves of this Holly Berry dress to my Lavender Fields dress. The sleeves on the Holly Berry dress run about 1/4 of an inch smaller. The sleeves fit me comfortably in my Lavender Fields dress, but the Holly Berry sleeves were definitely too snug for my preference.
Fabric - this fabric is thicker compared to the Lavender Fields and Lyla dresses. I would say the fabric is more like the Rosemary Maxi dress (without the shimmer). I think the thicker fabric will probably work well during the cold winter months.
Overall I know this dress will become a new favorite! I love this Ivy City silhouette and the pattern is just lovely for the fall and winter! I am also glad that the berries on this dress are white and not red. I think this makes it easier to wear this dress even after Christmas :)

I was hesitant to order, because I ordered a mommy and me outfit last year from a different company and was sorely disappointed (fit and quality were shoddy). THIS DRESS AND COMPANY ARE SO GOOD. The fabric feels silky and fits perfectly. I tried the dress on my toddler daughter for size and she flounced around for a little bit and then got mad at me when I took it off of her! I have big biceps so I was scared to purchase it reading about the arms being too small on the bigger sizes. But I sized up and it fits with more room to move my arms around and carry my kids! Lol! I could have stayed with my usual size but I love it! So glad I bought it! And it was half off so even better! Thank you Ivycityco ladies! Y’all are amazing! I did not dress up for the photo sorry. BUT!! I loooooove this maxi! I was so nervous about buying it. It took me almost a week to decide if I want to get it just from reading the reviews about the arms. This dress is so beautiful and of great quality but... the ARMS!! I’m so devastated that as soon as I recurved it I had to rush to see if a seamstress could alter the arms by taking from the skirt. I’m extremely nervous of the results but need this for hubbies Christmas party in a few days. I also sized up to an XXL because of the reviews I read (I’m 5”9 size 10-12) and these arms are more like a size medium from the elbow up. Hopefully I can update with a photo of the arms work out!

I was excited to get this dress because it looks so beautiful in the pictures online. However, it didn’t fit. The sleeves were too tight and it’s so long I would have to cut of about 5-7 inches to make it a midi length.

Love this dress, but I’m disappointed that the sleeves are REALLY tight. I even sized up one size because I read another review about the sleeves running tight. The sizing I think is a bit off. But the dress is beautiful. I’ll just have to squeeze!
